I’m a wife, mom of 2 polar opposite kids (teenager and a 20-year-old) and scrapbooker at heart. I’m sure I’m like most of you whose life revolves around their family. Together we love hiking, taking road trips to national parks and heading to Chicago for long weekends. We also enjoy dining out and, well, just hanging out together.
I started working at a scrapbook store before I even started scrapbooking. My passion for scrapbooking grew from there. As my kids get older and time together more precious, I can preserve the memories we have shared and relive them. Someone once asked me if my kids mind being featured on the layouts I publish on my website and highlight at scrapbook events. Hmm, I never asked and they never complained.
I have always had a love of crafting. When I was 10, I asked Santa for a sewing machine so I could make doll clothes. I also remember making latch hook rugs, ornaments with beads and pipe cleaners and sewing doll clothes were some of my other. I still enjoy quilting and sewing, but scrapbooking and all things paper and Cricut related has become my passion.
My passion for scrapbooking has grown. I worked at a retail scrapbook store. That grew into creating a line of lettering templates and starting the company Starry Night Creations. I progressed into hosting scrapbook events with friends. It became difficult finding stores who wanted to bring product to sell during the events, so I started stocking supplies for the events. My inventory grew and I brought it online and created ScrapnTime.com.
With ScrapnTime, I also create a club kit – well, you don’t need to join and there is no commitment, so it’s not really a club, but it is a kit! It features coordinating products and is paired with 3 coordinating layout ideas – two 2-page layouts and one 12×12 layout. Instructions are included, but nothing is pre-cut so you can use the ideas as is, add your twist to them or ignore them all together – it is definitely up to you. Also, there is typically 2 of each patterned paper in the kit. I hate it when you only get one sheet, love both sides and want to create a 2-page layout with it.
My style is simple – I like to embellish, but not lose sight of the photos. Photos take center stage, but I love to make the papers and embellishments enhance the story. I tend to do more 2-page layouts then 1-page layouts. But I’ve also been know to create 6-page layouts with the panoramic page protectors – great for vacations.
Because so many of the supplies and techniques are similar, my love of scrapbooking also includes cardmaking, paper crafting and all things Cricut.
Join me on this paper and Cricut crafting journey. I hope you will find useful ideas, tips, tricks and techniques that you incorporate into your own scrapbook and crafting journey.
